Budding solicitor-to-be, Lucy Mclaughlan, shares her experience of her 6 month contract at Cirkle HQ.
“(Too) short but sweet is the best way to describe my six months as an Account Assistant at Cirkle. And sweet in more ways than one – there’s definitely no shortage of tasty brands we work with! The background to my Cirkle story is not quite the norm: I had secured a training contract to become a solicitor, and found myself with several months before my law conversion course started. With several PR internships under my belt from university summers and knowing it would be an exciting learning curve, I reached out to Cirkle and have looked forward to Mondays ever since.
From the word ‘go’, I was entrusted with real responsibility and the opportunity to take ownership of projects – from liaising with influencers and drafting press releases, to attending trade media events and creating campaign reports to highlight successes. I consistently received constructive feedback that helped me develop skills that will span industries, and the support (both formally from my inspiring line manager and my peers in the pub on a Thursday evening) have helped me grow personally and professionally.
Cirkle is definitely not ‘all work and no play’ though … perks include free fitness classes, wellbeing days (massages, sessions with a nutritionist and a Pilates class), summer away-days, health cash plans, team fitness challenges and the Surprise & Delight team treating us to Cirkle Cinema nights etc.
The only thing I’d change about my time at Cirkle is that it had to come to an end. I’m gutted to leave, but I’m proud to have been part of such a forward-thinking team.”
